Curtis Leitch - 3rd grade teacher

Welcome! I am excited to begin my 15th year of teaching in Washington State. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Emmanuel College in Georgia and recently completed my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University.

I began my teaching career in Ocean Shores and have proudly spent the past 10 years at Washington Elementary School in Centralia. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to creating a classroom where every student feels safe, supported, challenged, and excited to learn.

Building strong relationships with students and families is an important part of my teaching. I work to create a welcoming classroom community where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, learning from mistakes, and celebrating one another’s successes.

I enjoy finding creative and engaging ways to bring learning to life. My goal is to help students become confident readers, writers, mathematicians, problem-solvers, and kind members of their community. I strive to meet students where they are, recognize their individual strengths, and help each child make meaningful academic and personal growth.

One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching students discover what they are capable of accomplishing. I am grateful to be part of the Washington Elementary community, and I look forward to another wonderful year of learning, teamwork, and growth!
